Pictures showed up on a popular Japanese discussion forum showing the expected Canon R7 and Canon R10 crop sensor cameras thought to be ready to be released tomorrow. A picture of the back of the R7 can be seen below.
The images show front, back and side views, revealing that the R7 does not appear to share the larger-frame ergonomics of the R5/6 series, but rather fits into a smaller size a design more similar to an early prosumer DSLR.
The R10, shown below, appears to be very similar in size, slightly rounded down, being about 1 cm smaller in width and 1/3rd cm smaller in height.
Specs noted in the post note that the R7 will use the LP-E6NH battery, and the R10 will use the same LP-E17 battery currently employed by the EOS RP budget full frame camera.
Weighing in at 612g, the camera is a quarter again as heavy as the EOS RP, the same width and 1/2 cm taller, so it should feel a bit more dense, even with the smaller sensor. (About half of that weight difference can be ascribed simply to the different batteries used.)
The R10 has a dial arrangement very similar to the RP, where the R7 nixes the top-back “quick-control dial” and replaces it with a thumb dial on the back.
