Best Canon Cameras in 2023 [TOP 5]
When I was younger I wanted to become a pirate! Now I am a photographer, because every pirate has to own a Canon. In todays video, I have rounded up what I think are the Best Canon Cameras of this year. Without wasting time let's start with the Best for Beginners camera from Canon the, Canon EOS Rebel T7. If you are looking for a great SLR camera to ease yourself into serious photography, and with a bargain price in one word I can just say that the Rebel T7 is a Dream. Like its brother T6, the Rebel T7 is one of the smallest DSLRs on the market. The grip is wrapped in textured rubber and it has a great solid and comfortable handhold. The body is mostly plastic, but it is reasonable for the price it comes with. The Viewfinder is a 3inch LCD screen that is bright and clear but the display is fixed and lacks a touch screen. Under the hood Rebel, T7 employs a modern 24MP image sensor. As for the rest of the internals and hardware spec pretty much inherited the same ones as the T6.
It has a rapid-fire shooting of 3 fps and a 9-Points Auto Focus system which sadly is a bit old but does the job really well. Overall, it delivers pleasing images. Rebel T7 is capable of recording at 1080p / 30fps and the quality is decent coming as clear and crisp. And there's also Manual exposure options that are viable for video shooting which is quite neat. But still, I would point you guys towards a mirrorless camera for a better video capturing experience.
The Battery life is on the bright side capable of lasting 500 shots per charge, outperforming a lot of mirrorless cameras from the competition. Next on the list, we have something for our professional fellas, the Canon EOS 90D – I have it listed as Best for Professionals. Canon just seems like it cants let go of DSLR cameras and likes to keep it old school, but this time it made a feature-packed DSLR with a high-resolution sensor that goes back to back with the mirrorless rivals. The 90D doesn't stray away from the design blueprint philosophy it ruled the series for generations. It has the basic simple black finish with a swing-out touch LCD viewfinder. It has splash and dust resistance. The grip is comfortable and it has the similar feeling you have experienced on the older versions. The LCD itself is a 3inch panel with 1,040k dots of resolution.
It is sharp bright and responsive and as I said earlier since the screen can swing out you can point it in any direction making it great for selfies. Now when it comes to the image quality, that's a whole new era compared to its brothers. Packing a 32.5-megapixel sensor makes it the highest-resolution APS-C DSLR released so far. Thanks to this beast of sensor the images come very detailed, colorful, and with awesome dynamic range performance. Hands down to Canon for cramming 32 megapixels onto a really small APS-C sensor. Video wise now the 90D is capable of recording in 4k UHD resolution, further full HD gets a boost of 120fps. Quality-wise the footages are crips with lots of details. And thanks to the Dual Pixel CMOS AF it offers fantastic video autofocus. It uses the same known great battery as many other Canon SLRs cameras, the LP-E6N. Promising to get you through 1,300 photos per charge thanks to the viewfinder not being much battery draining.
Coming in next on the list we have the Best for Vloggers, the Canon PowerShot G7X Mark III The PowerShot G7X III was made with vloggers in mind and oh boy for sure Cannon have pulled out all the stops to make this camera a joy for fellow vloggers. It is a compact well-built body that sits comfortably in the hand with a great sculpted grip and plenty of rubber to make it more comfortable and secure.
Even though the width and height are less than that of a standard smartphone but it's a bit heavy weighing over 300g.But overall is very robust and feels solid. It has a tilting LCD screen, that can be tilted up through 180 degrees for easier selfies and vlogging but it can also go down to 45 degrees. And it's the same as the previous models a 3-inch monitor with a 3:2 aspect ratio and 1040k dots resolution. Under the hood, the G7X III packs a 20.1 megapixel CMOS sensor that captures images in pretty much all aspect rations and it promises to deliver greatly detailed images. It has a whole bunch of 20fps with continuous shooting but even better 30 on raw format making it way ahead of many rivals that have it capped at 8 fps. Since it was made for vloggers mostly it has live streaming built-in support and a 3.5mm mic input. It can shoot 4k at 30 fps or at 1080p 60fps. Video stabilization is decent and the quality is really nice. It promises 265 shots from a full charge, which is neat given the extra demands features Canon placed on G7X III.
Moving forward as the Best for Sports photography we have,the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III EOS 1DX Mark III was made for pros who can't miss a shot especially for those on the sports field. But it is also very welcoming on world news and in wildlife photography. EOS is one heavy big boy, the body itself is dense and it is wrapped in leatherette and has the magnesium alloy finish like most of the EOS D series so yeah pretty much it is identical to the previous generations. If you are a pro whose shooting at a football game, for example, You'll spend most of the time peering through the optical viewfinder when taking images. The viewfinder is 0.76x and I think that's the much amount you can get on an SLR camera, but it is great that you won't experience any lag and you get a clear view of what you looking at. It has a basic 3.2inch LCD touchscreen on the rear with built-in WI-FI, Bluetooth and GPS, and USB port C. Under-the-hood it employs a redesigned 20.1 megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor and the latest DIGIC X image processor.
Since it was made for burst shooting, the EOS 1DX III gifts us a whole 20 fps continuous shooting in live view or 16fps with the viewfinder. As for Raw and JPEG bursts, it goes up to 1000 frames. As for recording, this big boy is capable of recording 4k videos at 60 fps with 10-bit color and a Raw 5.5k. And there's the full HD recording up to 120fps. Here's the best part, the battery in one word is insane. Canon gifted this EOS with an LP-E19 rechargeable battery cell that has the capacity to get you through 2850 shots. And last but not least, we have the Best Point and Shoot Camera, the Canon PowerShot SX740 HS I'll forgive you guys if you think that the smartphones have killed the compact digital cameras, but there's still a thing going for big zoom compacts cameras, PowerShot SX740 HS is living proof of that.
Whooping a whole optical zoom of 40x there's no smartphone that can come close to it. The design of SX740 will give you that nostalgic feeling, that we are used to seeing in the previous generations. The body is mostly plastic, yes it doesn't feel much premium but it is very pleasant and fun to look at or hold. On the front-rear, it has sizeable, grippy panels that make it very comfortable and secure in hand. The 3inch 922k dot LCD screen is clear and bright and provides accurate colors, it is flexible so you are able to flip it up for easy selfie shots. Inside SX740 HS features the same 20.3 megapixels 1/2.3 inch CMOS sensor we've seen in previous versions. But this time canon employed a Digic 8 Processor to benefit the burst shooting making it burst up at 7.4fps. And it also adds the ability to record 4k videos at 30/25FPS. And as for the battery, it is on the mediocre side holding up to 265 shots till it bites the dust.
