What is Canon USA refurbished camera like? Unboxing and detailed look.

Thought it would be fun to
open this Canon EOS M6 Mark II   refurbished version directly from Canon USA.
Return policy with a lot of nice packaging…  An M6 Mark II recording the M6 Mark II in this
case a refurbished one and in that case Atomos   Ninja V doing the actual recording.
That's about as good as you   can get with packaging!
Now we've got even more…  Canon with their counterfeit information.
Third party or counterfeit stuff… okay.  Thank you for purchasing blah blah blah.
Some information there for additional support.  One year warranty which is
the same as a new product.  Again very very good packaging.
Not sure if that's been used   or not, but it looks to be in decent
condition. I don't use those anyways…  So the battery was hanging
out with other hard surfaces.  I don't know how I feel about that.
I think if they're going to put bubble   wrap around something they should bubble wrap the
battery because that's the most dangerous thing.  Charger for the M6 Mark II, LP-E17.
Looks very clean for refurbished.  It's possible this is new and the camera is
refurbished, hard to say but it looks very good.  Just get an idea of what a refurbished
thing directly from Canon USA looks like.  There is a bit of scratching on the side here.
The camera itself,   one bubble wrap..

Two bubble wrap.. plastic.
Ohh, that's pretty! Ohh, that's pretty!  Oh that's smooth. That's much
smoother than my other one.  Let's take a look at the sensor.
You get the first look.   ohhhh!
I've had more time to look   at this refurbished M6 Mark II in silver.
There are some little flaws and damage.  First off on the bottom.
These little feet have   some paint removed. That's expected…
The silver finish is definitely not as uh..   not as… robust!
If you're looking at black   or silver in a camera like this from Canon go with
the black if you care about longevity of its look.  Some scratching and scuffing as well by the
tripod socket.

Something I don't really care   about that's not a big deal.
One thing I have noticed also,   there is a flaw on the LCD screen. It's not
huge or anything it's not something that's   going to bother me. And it's on the inside.
I have a screen protector on this now that I   installed just for added protection
because that's how I do things, hah. That   also not a huge deal for me.
You know, that's how it goes.  The main thing that I have an
issue with and I'm still not gonna   return it…

Autofocus button, the lower one here
doesn't have as much travel as other buttons.  It does work, just doesn't have as
much travel. It doesn't click as much.  So for example that's a regular button   and that's the one that's not as good.
A little bit disconcerting   for longevity of that button.
I have taken some cameras apart   back in my Pentax days. I had fixed the
dial.. "fixed".. with quotes, or two dials,   I went into those cameras and messed
around and successfully cleaned them up.  So if I ever have to do this and I have it long
enough, ahh, I'll.. maybe I'll make an attempt.  But by then hopefully this
camera won't be as important.  I have a full year of use. I'm going gonna try to
put this through its paces as much as possible.  This is going to actually be my indoor camera
most likely so we'll see, but I do want to at   least take it out to some photography things and
push it and make sure it functions well before I   dedicated to indoor use for the most
part.

Or whenever I'm feeling silver!  I think that was my first experience
with Canon's refurbished products   directly from Canon USA.
Scott of Photography Banzai, thanks!.
